Niu Life Midwives
Promoting Health & Wellness for Pasifika Pregnant Women and their Families.
Nestled in Papatoetoe at 89 Great South Road, South Auckland—conveniently located close to Middlemore Hospital—Niu Life Midwives is a welcoming clinic dedicated to Pasifika pregnant women and their families.
Our midwifery group is unique in its purpose and mission — to offer clinically safe and culturally aligned care across the full scope of midwifery for Pasifika families.
Most of our self-employed workforce grew up in South Auckland communities. Their lived experiences ensure your pregnancy journey is understood, respected, and truly supported. Your midwife walks alongside you, blending clinical expertise with deep cultural understanding.
In New Zealand, free maternity care (including pregnancy, birth, and postnatal support) is available to NZ citizens, permanent residents, and those with a work permit valid for two years or more, plus their partners and babies.

Our understanding of “family” at Niu Life Midwives.
“Family” means anyone who loves and supports you — whether related by blood or by heart.
We honour:
• Aiga (Samoan)
• Fāmili (Tongan)
• Vuvale (Fijian)
• Kōpū tangata (Cook Islands Māori)
• Magafaoa (Niuean)
• Kāinga — (Tokelauan / Tuvaluan / Kiribati)
• Fetū (Tahitian)
• Whānau (Māori / Aotearoa)
This is the spirit that guides our care — because every family is unique, and every bond matters.
